Upstanding Youth hails from the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. In 2001 they formed as a band and began writing music and performing around Oahu. Their first CD, Trying to Stand (2002), won Best Ska/Punk Album of the year at the Hawaiian Music Awards.
