简介

Woody Cunningham is a name some music lovers may not be familiar with but if they\'ve heard the \"Dynasty\" CD by Jay Z they\'ve heard Woody. In fact, Woody\'s \"woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, woo, hey, ay, ay\", is the very first vocal heard at the beginning of the Dynasty CD along with Woody\'s music. If they\'ve heard \"California Love\" on TuPac\'s \"All Eyes On Me\" CD, they\'ve heard Woody. The movie \"Like Mike\" has Woody on the sound track with Alicia Keyes; the song is called \"Put Me On\" sung by Mario. Woody can be found on Ice Cube\'s \"Peace\" CD; the track is called \"Supreme Hustle\". Woody\'s music can also be heard with quite a few other artists including Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Those of you with XM satilite radio can hear Woody\'s voice anytime on Soul Street, channel 60, with the Lee Hamilton ads, and on channel 64. \"The Groove \" Woody was co-producer of the group KLEEER (Atlantic Records recording artists). KLEEER produced five of their seven albums; the last two were co-produced with Eumir Deodato. Woody was born in Baltimore, Maryland where he attended Dunbar High, renowned for their championship basketball teams. Woody was very good at football and baseball. Music was his first love. Woody knew every song on the radio and whenever the big shows came to the Royal Theatre, Woody had a front row seat watching The Supremes, Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Mary Wells, Marvin Gaye, Chuck Jackson, James Brown, The Contours, Gladys Knight and The Pips, Jackie Wilson and many, many others. He started drumming with the Falcons Drum and Bugle Corp of which Qwesi Mfume (former NAACP President) was a member. Woody\'s first drum gig was backing up a local Baltimore singing group called The Tempros with lead singer Billy Griffin who took Smokey Robinson\'s place with The Miracles. His next gig was with another local group known as The Young Vandals with Damon Harris who replaced Eddie Kendricks with The Temptations.Woody also has the distinction of being the very first drummer for the late Luther Vandross. Woody wrote, sang lead and was drummer for some of Kleeer\'s most memorable hits - \"Intimate Connection\", \"Get Tough\", \"Winners\". Woody\'s CD \"Never Say Never\" ( Instinct Records ) and \"The Very Best of Kleeer\" CD (Rhino Records) is in record stores and Woody\'s remix EP can be found at www.cdbaby.com, also Woody\'s music can be found at www.myspace.com/woodycunninghamofficial. Woody\'s working with 2 of the industry\'s outstanding producers Andy \" Madhatter \" Holmes and Bruce \" Kool Aid \" Gardner on several projects...Woody plans to be involved in all areas of the entertainment world... Thanks to Larry Gibson (co-chairman, The Baltimore Bicentennial Committee) and Malik Rahman (Mayor\'s Office), Woody was commissioned by the City of Baltimore to write the song commemorating Baltimore\'s 200th Anniversary. Playwright, Judlyne Lilly, contracted Woody to write the music for her plays \"The Other Side of Alice\" and \"The Ticket Home\".
