简介
DOUG LEGACY Doug Legacy is originally from Houston, Texas, but also lived in Louisiana and Arkansas in his younger days, where he acquired a taste for Gumbo, Delta Blues, Zydeco and Cajun Music. So, for him it was, musically and geographically, a short way to New Orleans and the local music scene around Dr. John, the Meters or the Neville Brothers. Now he lives in Los Angeles and over the years became sort of a a cult figur playing his red hot mixture of Zydeco, Voodoo Soul, New Orleans Funk, Blues and Rock’n’Roll. When Doug had moved to Los Angeles in the late 70's, he hooked up with Rod Stewart to play steel drums on a European tour, which was followed by 15 or so years of tours with bands such as E.L.O., Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, Rickie Lee Jones, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Nicks, Bruce Hornsby, Joe Cocker and The Tubes. One of his favorite tours was singing in Todd Rundgren's "11 Voice Orchestra," supporting his album "Accapella". For more than 15 years he still performs with his "Zydeco Party Band" while at the same time being a member of Danny Elfman's band "Oingo Boingo". He does a fair share of session work and occasionally has cool gigs fall in his lap like one-nighters with Paul McCartney. Doug has been in a variety of movies (working with stars such as Warren Beatty and Dan Aykroyd), television shows (recently seen and heard on the Gilmore Girls) and commercials promoting products such as Kentucky Fried Chicken, Budweiser Beer, Tower Records, and T-Mobil. The Zydeco Party Band has opened for the Neville Brothers in Japan and Europe and was the house band for the “Muppets Tonight” television show. He has recordings released in Japan and Europe and is now available in the U.S. on Wildcat Records. He has recently (2005) collaborated with the Swiss band “The Donkey Biters" on their new release "Sittin' On Top Of The World". ********** THE DONKEY BITERS The history of goes back well over 20 years, when the Donkey Biters started out playing the music they loved so much, good old Chicago Blues that was. Over the years the band appeared at such famous musical events like the Montreux Jazz Festival or the Burghausen Jazz Festival in Germany. They've toured up and down Europe, either by themselfs or as accompanists for U. S. solo artists. For several years the Donkey Biters have toured with legendary singer/harp player Mojo Buford, who was a member of Muddy Waters’ Band for over 20 years. Further on they've also backed up such Blues greats as Sam Carr and Fillmore Slim. For about 10 years Kurt Bislin (vocals/drums) and Koni Eisenhut (bass/harp) have worked with guitarist Larry Burton from Chicago, with whom they’ve also recorded. Chrigel Burkhard (vocals/guitar) was touring with British keyboard legend Tony Ashton for over 5 years and has worked with Les Getrex from New Orleans and Jon McDonald from Chicago. ********** SPECIAL GUESTS We dearly like to thank our musician colleagues, who contributed some very fine playing and singing and helped a great deal to put earrings on that pig: WADDY WACHTEL lead guitar [Blue Mornin’ Blues] MARK SHARK lead guitar [What’d I Say] [Back Door Man] [Watermelon], lead Dobro guitar [Sittin’ On Top Of The World], mandolin [Two Horses] CLA NETT lead guitar [Caldonia] [Watermelon], guitar [Blue Mornin’ Blues] [From Four Until Late] JIM UNFRIED backing vocals [Take It To The Rue] LEE THORNBURG trumpet, trombone [Take It To The Rue] JIMMY Z saxophone [Take It To The Rue] [Walkin’ To Louisiana], harp [Earthquake and Hurricane] [Crawlin’ Kingsnake] LISA HALEY fiddle [Two Horses] LEON RUBENHOLD slide guitar [Earthquake and Hurricane], guitar [What’d I Say]
