简介
My name is Jay Della Valle. My ever evolving Bio will not start with some banter about how hard it is to write a Bio. I was always expect more out of myself whenever I try to do this. Screw it!! Here's some valuable information about me. I'm a born and raised Jersey boy- hailing from the swamps of Jersey- yeah- you know it- right off the turnpike- living in Tony Soprano's guest room. I drive a Jeep- I rock a mustache- I'm in a band- and I like long legs. They drive me crazy. For lack of a long winded description-I'm a singer- a songwriter- a guitar player- a mediocre piano player- as well as a mustache enthusiast. When I was a wee lad- my daddy told me that I would grow up to be a leader of a rock n roll band. I said- Daddy you crazy!" Rock n roll is the devil's music- and I don't want nuthin to do with the devil. Even though I was from the suburbs of Jersey- I talked like that. So Yes. Somewhere in between that awkward age- and 8 years old- I became interested in a few things that would change my life forever- Girls, Nine Inch Nails, and Saved by the Bell. With the three of them inspiring me- I could rule the school. So far, my claim to fame is the documentary I made about the “under 30 mustache.” It’s called “The Glorius Mustache Challenge” and you can enlighten yourself by visiting the website-which was the highest visited website in the entire country for 20 seconds in 2006. www.gloriusmustache.com It earned me the title “Godfather of The Modern Mustache” and also the position “Chairman Emeritus” of “The American Mustache Institute.” Seriously. Some people think I let the fame go to my head. They're wrong. I let it all go to my mustache. I started writing music when I was 13- but that was just one song and it sounded like a prepubescent version of “Haddaway.” I played in numerous bands throughout my teens and early early 20s’s, but I didn’t write my own music again until I was 23. There I was, young & hungry- with a broken heart. Throw some “Dashboard Confessional” in there—and you have the ingredients for a beautifully poetic emotional disaster. I used the angst to develop my abilities as a singer and songwriter. I teamed up with many musicians, producers, beautiful women, and coffee pots- to bring together the appropriate elements you will hear in my music. All the time wearing my heart on my sleeve, trying to be as honest as possible, not taking myself too seriously, and striving to make music that is a reflection of who I am and how I experience my life. I released my 4th “collection of Della Valle tunes,” Stay Gold," in 2007 sometime. It’s a bunch of supercharged rock- ridden pop odysseys- which pretty much means you will like it if you’re not one of those anti-pop ultra hipster deuschbags that likes to complain when anyone writes something catchy and somewhat mainstream. I like and write catchy POP! Rock music. I like it slow. I like it fast. I like it when it makes me feel good-and I judge music by those standards alone. Most recently, however- I've been working on a new project of naughty sleezy rocky pop dance in your facey songs. I think these new songs are going to fall under the project title- Taboo. Check out my newest single and video for "Legs So Long It's Crazy." My goal is to get it played at all strip joints- as well as Foot Locker. In April 2009, my band and I toured throughout the East Coast. We love to travel and come to new cities. In April- we visited Boston (The Middle East), Burlington, VT (Higher Ground), Baltimore (The 8x10), DC (DC9), Richmond, VA- as well as some other great towns we hope to go back to. We will be touring again in November 2009- most likely the Midwest (Chicago, St. Louis, etc.)- so mark that down in your Iphone and smoke it. As of May 2009- Della Valle is in the studio recording new songs with bandmates Dave Reid and Nicole Gibbons- so stay tuned for what we're about to spout out. Thanks for reading this if you did. Enjoy the music- let your friends listen to it- put it on mixtapes- I hope it can sometimes provide the appropriate soundtrack to your life. Damn I'm so deep.
