All compositions by Robbie Melville. Recorded and mixed by Mark Stanley at Red Room Recording Studios. Produced by Mark Stanley and Robbie Melville. Robbie Melville is a Melbourne based guitarist and composer. Since completing formal music study in 2001, he has performed both nationally and internationally. In 2005 he was offered the Principal Guitar Chair in the Australian Pops Orchestra, appearing at Hamer Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Further gigs with the Orchestra followed in 2006 and 2007, featuring James Morrison, Marina Prior, Roy Best and Guy Sebastian. Whilst living in Shanghai from 2008 to 2010, he played at venues such as the World Trade Centre, the acclaimed JZ Club, the House of Jazz & Blues, and the Shanghai 2010 World Expo with a number of international performers. In the past year, as well as playing regular gigs with his own ensemble ‘cleverhorse’, he has also completed a Master of Music (Performance) degree, toured with Irish singer-song writer Mundy and performed with American singer Krystle Warren. Robbie has composed and recorded music for The Australian Diamond Company and the Chinese/American short film, “Hidden Truths”. One of his original compositions has also featured in the Australian short film, “The Takedown”. In 2007 he independently released the album "Goodnight, Mr. Monster" with his ensemble "cleverhorse", featuring the band’s eclectic range of music, as well as the inclusion of two pieces for string quartet. “…they have given a lot of thought to an overall sound, to an attractive surface, to listenability as well as creativity or simply ‘getting it on’.” “It was seductive and euphoric.” “They are onto something. Robbie lives in rural Victoria with this wife, two daughters and very friendly dog. He works as the in house guitarist and musical arranger for Red Room Records, teaches guitar, and performs regularly in both Melbourne and nationally.
