Musser is primarily a media artist with an emphasis on video work. However, as with all of his work, he considers all media equally, making little distinction between them. These audio works are no exception. Many of the tracks offer the traditional anchor of a melody and musical structure. Others are more experimental and ambient. As with all of his audio work, images are induced through the act of listening. And, transversely, his video work often suggests rhythms and aural themes. Indeed, he often incorporates his audio work as the soundtracks to his videos... often, a satisfying composite. His third album, THREE, wanders even further into the visualization of sound.
