简介
by Dean Carlson2002 saw a resurgence of popularity in drum'n'bass, opening the doors for many jungle producers to reach audiences they hadn't had access to for years. Surprisingly, Polar used the timing of his follow-up to focus on a less familiar territory of recontextualized Ibizan breaks. "Lectric," "Safari," "Love Is the Ear," and many others were nearly Kraftwerk in electro construction, slow and lucid without sounding disingenuous or loungey or trapped in the mechanics of their surroundings. The rare use of jungle was also strong. "The Other Side," a pleasant surprise of a track, made good use out of its unique, screwily tropical dancefloor mash of lushly pedaled drum'n'bass. Closer to a vacationing Adam Freeland than Grooverider, to the irritation of some.
