Tha Great was born Alexander Bernard Jefferies, on June 20th. Along with 2 sisters and one brother. He started writing music while he was in the sixth grade; he and two of his friends. Up until the time he was 15 he thought he had been born in Chicago like most of my family on his father's side, but turns out he was born in Charleston,MO with my mothers family. But still repping the Chi as well as Kansas City,MO. Moving from Chicago when he was 8 or 9 years old. My father and mother never married (from what he recalls) so it was a back and forth thing between parents. Never really settled in one spot, until he moved to 33rd and Highland (KCMO) in the 7th grade. "My parents always fought over who had custody" he says, until he became a teen. At the age of 15 he was kicked out of the house, first by his Pop's(father), then by his mother. They didn't like the fact that he started smoking w**d, so they felt this is the only way they could discipline him for going against their rules. Every since then he has been on his own, sleeping in friends cars and houses when they let him or snuck him in. So now all he feels he knows is the streets and writing music. Iinking up with friends from the neighborhood ( the group Dirty Mob) who help him survive he claims. With out most of them he feels as if he don't know where he'd be at this point in life, if here at all. "They gave me food when I didn't work,gave me shelter when they could and couldn't. Also gave me more game,more ways to make money...The streets have been tough but I have to continue living." Meeting the mother of his now two children while working at Taco Bell at the end of 2004. She help him out alot also, he claims. She would sneak him in her mothers house to sleep, eat, and get clean. Around the time his brother Jason had given him a car. His first car to be exact, so he could go see his girl every day. Family tried to help out but his brother was in the same position. His mother had lied on him several times, had hime sent to jail and all kinds of things. Half a year later his girl tells him she's pregnant, now everything is getting crazy. His father goes to jail for six years, his mother moves to North Carolina, and both his sisters gets married. Had his child, started a family, and one of his closet friend's father built them a studio from the ground up! Now he has 6 Mixtapes and 3 original albums all over the web. Still doing shows all over the USA and soon to be the world he says. While bringing something new, something fresh to the ever changing hip-hop world. Bringing that substance back to the music helping a lost youth, and exposing all corruptness found through out our country. He calls himself a voice for those who have no platform. Hoping to do right by every last one of his fans and supporters, all while maintaining a level head of humility.
