Lichters leased a five-bedroom house and took them to buy instruments." 2007 - Vibe Magazine GROUP HISTORY: SMASH was first released in Europe by Polydor Germany in 1977 under the title Hot Ice, which was the follow up to White Heat (RCA 1974), a name Barry White controlled, but released the band and formed the Motown group Switch. In 1979 the album was released by Source/MCA under the group name SMASH, where Randy, Mark and El DeBarge were included in the group backing up this album. Consequently Motown signed DeBarge. This album is for Funk and Soul lovers.
