The album "Sacred Whispers" is the soundtrack of the Film - Noir "Sacred Whispers", written and directed by the very talented director Constantinos Isaias, in Los Angeles 2010. The story takes place in the early 60's and it is about the cruel face of racism and of postponing the fulfillment of our deep desires, sometimes by the people closer to us. The truth is that no force can ever repress, forbid, hold back the water from flowing and if someone believes that they can.. well, they are in for a majestic surprise, for the water kept from flowing, the water held back from its natural state, from fulfilling its destiny, will come back with such a force, with such a rage, that it will sweep fortunes and homes, forests and mountains in its way.. The music, the lyrics were composed/written by Alexia Vassiliou and the voice / singing also by Alexia. Furthermore, the song "Sacred Whispers I" was created by Alexia and her longtime collaborator Bill Stergiou. Instrumental tracks from Alexia's latest release, the triple album Re-bE, are heard in "Sacred Whispers". Some of the musicians who have worked on this cd are: Iosif Kefalas: computer programming-arrangement-compositions - Re-bE album Fergus Currie: orchestrations and conducting - Re-bE album Vassilis Stergiou: composition, orchestrations, guitar and sound engineering - Backyards album ALEXIA VASSILIOU (Composer/Lyricist/Vocalist): Alexia Vassiliou, better known as Alexia, is a Greek Cypriot singer with a series of Gold and PLATINUM albums, including one in all of the Scandinavian countries and a Top-100 hit in the USA. Alexia's 1st album sold over 500.000 copies, making it the most successful debut album by a Greek artist ever. Alexia recorded over 25 albums worldwide, while signed with CBS, Universal and BMG. Alexia's 1st American single: "I AM SIAM" charted on Billboard's Top100 while studying at the Berklee College of Music. At at that time Alexia was introduced to world-renowned musician Chick Corea which resulted in concert performances and an opportunity to work together again in 1996 on Alexia's Jazz Album, "In a Jazz Mood". Which was released by Sony BMG Alexia's performance in Eurovision's Annual Song Contests resulted in her hit song Aspro - Mavro reaching platinum in Europe! Alexia Vassiliou has been a successful recording artist in Greece and the rest of the European continent for over 20 years. Throughout her career, Alexia has collaborated with a number of distinguished artists. and for a period of 10 years, she teamed up with the legendary Mikis Theodorakis and his Popular Orchestra; (COMPOSER OF WORLD FAMOUS SOUNDTRACKS OF ZORBA THE GREEK, SERPICO, Z, HONEYMOON) As a tribute to Theodorakis's body of work, Alexia recorded a double album showcasing some of the composer's most consummate musical creations. In her jazz album "In a Jazz Mood", Alexia features Chick Corea, one of the most important pianists and composers of our time and with the participation of great bassist, John Patitucci. Two other artists Alexia has collaborated with are: Swiss Harpist Andreas Vollenweider and great Italian singer Milva known also for her collaboration with Astor Piazzola. Alexia has also performed songs for the soundtracks of two films, "The Road to Ithaca" and "Safe Sex", both of which became platinum. Alexia has performed with the contemporary dance theater company, Octana, in their performance of "The Lady Of The Camelias" by Alexander Dumas. Alexia has also performed in 3 art films, BUNKER BUSTER; the first of these films (directed by Joseph Dadoune) is currently featured in museums and theaters around the world. Alexia starred in 2 short Film-Noir for which she has also composed the score with excerpts from her latest CD Re-bE. Selected music from Re-bE and her forthcoming album "Backyards" (Voice improvisations and spoken word) were heard in the play WATER, which was critically acclaimed in Hollywood. Alexia's charitable contributions are a significant part of her career. Performing and contributing to various organizations, including the recording of six albums that bring awareness to her native country of Cyprus, where she was displaced amongst 180,000 Greek Cypriots during an Turkish invasion in 1974. In 2011 Alexia has performed for UNESCO in the UNESCO theater in Paris and in Los Angeles, Greece and Cyprus. Upcoming performances in New York and Los Angeles. Alexia's triple album, Re-bE, was released in the UK and Europe in September 2010 and in the US in July 2011 showing significant sales results! This prolific production features Alexia as the vocalist / composer / lyricist / producer.
