About how i approached the compositional process of this jazz trio album and sometimes in general, most of the time i have a rough direction in my way to compose the tune but i do not have all of the answers. For example: how it will sound, what kind of texture should be on the drums, how concrete or abstract should the harmonic movement be in the improvisations part and so on. That way it changes as we go along with the tune, in the rehearsal room before the recording session, when the magic happens. In this particular moment, when the magic happens, it feels like we are expressing ourself without too much impediments. It feels like we have internalized the harmony and the structure and we are free to dive deep into the tune we’re playing. The funny part is that at the end, i couldn't imagine that the tune could sound like that, even using my deep imagination. The particular way that my bandmates approach the tune, gives us freedom and part of the tune itself as almost an extension of our body. I discovered that as i went along to write these 3 original compositions and the 5 standard arrangements initially they were ‘’anything’’, then they were something else…
