All tracks are originals (both music and lyrics) written by Avelia & Jill, in between looking after their children, and performing and teaching as musicians. The songs form the musical sections of their show "Ifs, Buts & Babies" which they are currently touring throughout the UK. Both women are now expert jugglers but look much more haggard/exhausted/dishevelled (delete as appropriate!) than when they began the collaboration ... their kids, fortunately, have learned to become quite self-sufficient! Writing has acted as therapy for both artists, sessions often ending in hysterical laughter and now they can hardly wait to begin on their next project. Avelia & Jill acknowledge the wonderful harmonies provided by their pianist, Bruce Boardman, which lift all the songs to a higher level. Not only is Bruce a chord maestro, but also a raconteur of some skill - the hazard here being that of focussing him back to the music as his fund of stories is apparently never-ending! A&J delight in utilising their vast professional musical experience, deliberately producing an eclectic mix of styles, and weaving intriguing vocal harmonies into songs wherever possible, as well as enjoying their considerable vocal ranges.
