简介
After years of journeying from the blues bars of Chicago to Berklee College of Music to the historic recording studios of Nashville, 28 year old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Katie Day has found her home in San Francisco. After many years performing and recording with bands ranging from indie pop to americana on instruments just as varying, she decided to take her solo work into the studio. In 2010, while living in Nashville, she recorded and released her first solo EP, "Sunny's Sister". Covered in mandolin, guitar, harmonica, and accordion (all performed by Day), "Sunny's Sister" has a strong roots and americana influence. Her sophomore release, "Going Nowhere", written and released in 2013 from her current home in San Francisco, shows an evolution of her songwriting, vocals, and influences brought on from the experiences of travel, love and loss, and struggle. The sense of intimacy and poignancy evoked in "Going Nowhere" is palpable upon first listen. Day is currently working out of San Francisco's historic Hyde St. Studio C on a new EP to be released in 2014.
