Winston A Stewart

Former keyboardist, producer, writer, arranger, and key member of the Bar-Kays, Winston composed and arranged music for every album recorded by the Bar-Kays from the early 70’s until the early 90’s. As an accomplished keyboardist, he also served as a staff musician at Stax Records while the group was signed to that label. He performed to sold-out concerts at coliseums and auditoriums across the country and shared the limelight with every major artist there was during that era. After twenty-five years with the group, Winston took a sabbatical from writing and performing. During that season, a life-changing event happened to him as he rededicated his life and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Realizing there was only one true Master to serve, he gave up his career with the Bar-Kays and studied Gospel music. The rest is now His-story. Winston incorporates his musical background with the Bar-Kays and combines it with his recent studies of Gospel music and creates a musical blend he calls Rhythm and Praise. The added ingredient that makes the music come alive is the anointing God has placed upon him, the music, and his life. Winston is happily married and has twin sons in college. He is currently serving as Minister of Music at Community of Faith Christian Church where he has served for the past 12 years. He has just released his first solo Gospel Instrumental CD entitled “A Condition of the Heart”.
