D.M.K. (Dunbar, Merrill, Karl), is a hard rock group that is comprised of; vocalist - Scotty Dunbar, guitarist - Ted Merrill and drummer - Brian Karl This past spring the band released there debut EP entitled "3" and upon it's release the groups first single "The Fire That Won't Go Out” charted @ # 5 on Amazon's "Top 100 Hot New Releases Chart" Category: Hard Rock & Metal and # 22 on Amazon's "Top 100 Best Sellers In Songs Chart" Category: Hard Rock & Metal. D.M.K. celebrated the release of "3" by performing a show the day of it's release at the world famous "Whisky A Go Go " in Hollywood, CA. Since the release of "3" The band has been out supporting the EP's release by performing with such notable artist as; Bret Michael's, Michael Sweet of Stryper, Mike Tramp of White Lion, Eric Martin of Mr.Big, SteelHeart & Jack Russell's Great White. On August 21st, D.M.K.will be releasing a brand new single "Tears In The City" The band returned to Mixed Emotions Studio in Middleton, MA in early July to cut the track with engineer Kenny Lewis. The song was mastered by Pete Evick(Lead guitarist of the Bret Michaels Band) Tears In The City was written by Jerry Dixon of Warrant. Dunbar had previously recorded a different version of the song on his 2012 solo release "In A Mellow Mood". Scotty Dunbar states: "When D.M.K. formed last fall and we started rehearsing together "Tears In The City" was brought into the set. The guys arranged a more rockin' take on it. The version that we've been performing together live has gone over well and It's my favorite song to perform. It's definitely different from the Warrant version and it's totally different from the version of "Tears In The City" that appeared on my solo release "In A Mellow Mood" That take on the song was recorded as a duet with myself & a female artist that goes by the name of AMJ. Ted, Brian & I really tried the best we could to give this song the justice it deserves and to just make it our own. It's such a beautiful written song by Jerry Dixon. I'm really hoping that people will like it when they hear it. It was a pleasure to record with Kenny Lewis yet once again. This was also our first time working with Pete Evick. He is such a nice guy and a total pro. I look forward to working with Pete for years to come."
