"It Goes This Way" has been in the making for a long time. Children and music are what I do. As a teacher, mom and grandma- I have sung, taught and heard countless children's songs. I have seen kids learn to document their feelings in writing, describe books and characters, look at pictures and biographies about famous artists and music of the seasons. I have watched children stare at a blank piece of paper, not knowing where to start. I have watched my school children and my own children making friends with kids from different cultures, not seeing the differences adults tend to see, only the similarities.

I have seen them in school plays, singing and dancing to songs both old and new. And each time there was an inspiration, a situation that called out to me- I ran with it and wrote a song. A song to make learning easier. A song just for fun.

My husband Ed Nicodemi always helped to find just the right word or tune to sweeten my efforts, and Elyse Orecchio, our talented daughter, was delighted to sing with us on this project. Federico, a former high school student of Ed's, added the perfect touch with his percussion playing. We are very excited to share these songs that have delighted and educated our elementary school students and young family members.
