Jade CDs are widely heard on national and fine music stations throughout Australia, and are recognised as a valuable resource by educational authorities as being uniquely representative of the work of Australian composers. They are manufactured in limited runs of 500, stocks are therefore limited and Jade CDs may fairly be described as collectors' items. All Jade CD covers are distinctive. Total duration: 53.24 This CD is named after Mageau's 1982 work which integrates 20th century rhythms and sonorities with a Baroque structure, and is here performed by the Brisbane Baroque Trio with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Two organ preludes on religious themes by Allworth contrast with his outer space string trio "Zarcon 3" (1994). Solo works by Holland (for violin) and by Brumby (guitar) complement ensemble writing for mandolin ensemble by Gross, who also contributes Alan Light's live performance of the bass-baritone "Judge's Aria", from his 1965 opera "The Amorous Judge".
