Taking inspiration from the likes of Tycho and Air, this EP mixes soothing ambient sounds with driving beats. This is heard in tracks like "Initial Descent," which begins with synthetic drones and gradually builds with increasing levels of percussion and rhythm. There is a careful attention to melody throughout, and this is particularly prevalent in the closing track, "Final Light Wave." Sound of Machines is designed to be a cathartic experience, with feelings of uncertainty and inquisition that finally give way to a soothing conclusion.
