简介
After the previous albums in 2005 I had not a band line up when Rudi (the manager, publisher and bass player on the album) came in and told me to stand up and let his mates come in and play some tune. A powerful drummer, "Cellula", and a silent looking dark guitarist, Alessio. We formed the basic line up. Then other great friends (Micevice and Lorenzo Corti) came into the studio and helped with the songwriting of some of the songs. I arranged most of the songs. "Cellula" knew all the timing of all the pop/rock songs of the last 30 years: he could play drums in the style of every great drummer in rock history: from Bonham to Copeland and Ringo Starr. I liked to change my voice style too. So I decided to create the Epigone Rock Style: this album is our official attempt to this new/old rock style. THE SONGS. "Modern Law" - XTC meet Bowie. It is the story of a broken marriage, as it is seen by the husband. "Guilty Sky" - 80's rock style with a Bowie feeling. the perfect song against pollution. "Epigonesque" - Short and strong rock song - Led Zeppelin / Police / Jack Bruce / Hendryx - The true Epigone Manifesto song - "Moon Bottom" - a slow powerful rock - typical Cambeck song with a Led Zep guitar riff. "I Got A Sunshine" - Syd Barrett / Pink Floyd style - Dedicated to Syd Barrett - I wrote this one two days before Syd died: when I did knew it I was afraid about my ESP. "Shocked Clone" - For the intro I thought about Genesis (70's period) - one of my favourite songs. "Stream Of Consciousness" - rock - the lover man as a Joycian presence into the woman mind. "Walking" - Beatles forever! - A John Lennon first period style song - It is the story of a character who is a bit like Ringo into the film "A Hard Day's Night", moving in a "Help!" (the film) scene. For the piano solo I thought George Martin was in the studio with me, helping to record the song with his piano part. I love George Martin: no Beatles without him. "The River Waltz" - a 3/4 song with Barrett influence again - the river is our life. "My Buddies" - a cover from my friend Lorenzo Corti. "Windsurf Twirl" - Beach Boys second period - my best song in the album, as my friend Pidelgro says. "Hey Matt" - Police / Sex Pistols / Yes - Another serious song: this is about atomic war.
