简介
Kaya is a name that may be new to you but he is a vocalist with a long history of live performance alongside artists such as Jah Shaka, Errol Dunkley, Jah Thomas, John Holt, Sanchez and Barry Brown to mention but a few. He is a regular on the sound system scene, voicing out with Monassa, Unity Sound, Jah Tubbys, Jah Shaka, Coxen and others. Kaya has also supported and harmonised for dub poet Benjamin Zephaniah and appeared on the Dread Poets Society album. International live appearances include visits to Austria's Wiesen Sun Splash as lead singer for Coptic Roots Band, London's Party in the Park, various visits to Holland in collaboration with Revelation Time, tours with Bim Sherman, supporting Bryan Wilson and the Sounds of the Earth as part of the Rastaman Vibration Tour, charity events in Italy and a French tour with Okra Banton. His recordings are characterised by his clear, strong and melodic voice and always carry a positive message. Typical of his style is "Family Man", a song of dedication and the importance in a man's life of a higher purpose with lyrics that sit perfectly over a steady roots rhythm. Kaya would like to send Blessings to David Brown for the inspiration for writing "Family Man".
