简介
This CD features fourteen songs which are musical settings inspired by the poems of Bridget White of the Bristol Underground Church in the United Kingdom. Bridget's poetry draws strongly on both her poverty-stricken Irish childhood and her Christian faith. An illustrated collection of 92 of Bridget's poems is available on Amazon and is entitled 'Hands Across The Ocean'. The CD features four traditional gospel tunes by Freddie Gallichan (featuring his son on Jonathan on clarinet on the plaintiff lament 'Shepherd Boy'). The other ten tracks are arranged by Dorset musician Eli Paul and cover an astonishing range of styles from the folk song of 'Hills Of Irish Green' (featuring Julie Beech on fiddle) to rap ('Rapper Tandy'.) There is a 1940-inspired swing tune ('Tiny Feet'), some Chuck Berry-style rock'n'roll ('Autumn'), a smidgen of rockabilly gospel ('I've Got My Visa') and a powerful rock ballad ('My Steps Are Built On Heartache') as well a few other delights for the listener to dicover for themselves. This is truly a CD with something for everyone. Bridget White says of the CD: 'I hope these songs bless and inspire you and that you will be touched by the love of God and emotionally healed.' Production Management of the CD was undertaken by Simon Farris, whose autobiography 'From Law To Grace' is also available on Amazon. Simon is a Cambridge University law graduate, who gave up a lucrative career to spread the gospel and his book tells his story movingly. In conclusion: Simon and Bridget say: 'We will travel anywhere to spread the word of God.' They are contactable via the Bristol Underground Church on Facebook.
