简介
Floyd has a mean left hand and is famous for his Boogie Woogie stylings, smartly displayed here to get the listener dancing. Producer Floyd Domino, currently the pianist for Merle Haggard and the Strangers, joined Texas swing band Asleep At The Wheel with whom he won two Grammys. Floyd has produced a series of timeless children’s albums so he knows something about lullabies too. Ryan Gould’s upright bass and J.D. Pendley’s jazz guitar round out the rhythm section while Jonathan Doyle doubles on clarinet and tenor saxophone. This recording, along with Emily Gimble’s vocal version, was tracked at Bismeaux Studios in Austin, Texas, engineered by Steve Mazur, mixed at Jumping Dog Studio by Ron Flynt and mastered at Terra Nova Digital Audio by Nick Landis, another Grammy Winner. All sales proceeds from “Mighty Like a Rose”* benefit Beyond Batten Disease Foundation and support its mission to eradicate juvenile Batten disease, a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects children. The foundation raises awareness and funds for research to find a cure for this devastating illness.
