简介
Serotonin offers a tight, unique fusion of soulful rock and disco funk with slight jazz influences. Over the past six years, their music has evolved from a modest 3-piece party band into five modern-day rock innovators, fusing unlikely combinations of genres and taking an increasing number of passengers along for the ride. Their eclectic sound is in part due to the diverse backgrounds of its members. Keith Hovdesven's (guitar) rock background and penchant for "putting the eyebrows on it" lays the foundation for his tight songwriting. Patrick Greenberg brings the beats and lyrics with his endless stream of creativity and years of experience playing all genres of music. Years of jazz and theartre study color Jeremy Eckley's (lead vocals) animated presence as a frontman. Kevin Robinson (bass/vocals) brings his jazz background and passion for freestyle jamming to the table. Dantu Walker (guitar) found his way into Serotonin's sound after years in the Berkeley, San Francisco club scene. The intense energy of a live Serotonin show is blinding, as they feed off the audience, unify the energy and emotion of the room, and then blow its collective mind. Their energy is offset by spontaneous fugues into unpredictable jams. Unlike typical jam bands, however, Serotonin generates tidy, cohesive songs that are radio-friendly without compromising substance. Serotonin currently keeps over 50 original songs in rotation, and they will usually throw in a cover or two each night. Eckley describes their repertoire as "constantly evolving and exploring all genres." Serotonin can currently be seen all over Washington, appearing in venues such as Bellingham's 3B Tavern, Seattle's Rainbow, and Olympia's Fourth Avenue Tavern. The band draws increasing numbers with each appearance through word-of-mouth, and their online community continues to grow. Serotonin's newest album, You Can Watch My Monsters Die, showcases the band's introspective lyrics within its signature sound of mutating styles. The music takes you on a ride through morphing blends of soulful groovy funk, boot-stomping bluegrass, a splash of psychedelic jazz, and all the while maintaining a steady dose of driving rock. The band is currently supporting their new CD with numerous club bookings around the Puget Sound.
