The Entertaining Sound Of The Shy Guys is a compilation album of some classic 'Shy Guys' music accumulated over a long period of time. The bulk of the record was recorded and cut to vinyl in 1964 at Morton Grove Records in Morton Grove, IL - USA. The lead singer and song-writer Verne Engblom and his 'Shy Guy' buddies did some amazing things over the decades. Performing Barbershop Quartet inspired shows here, there and everywhere as well as writing and recording hit music brought them close together as friends. Several notable songs that originated from Verne Engblom & The Shy Guys are the classics, 'I'm The Only Guy In The Old Neighborhood' & 'Live By The Good Book', which were both featured on many Chicago Radio Stations and TV Shows. Later on in life, Verne focused more on other musical ventures such as writing and composing carousel music as well as children sing-along records. He was featured on Chicago news channel ABC 7's 'Someone You Should Know' program in the 90's as a inspirational and creative person that people should know about. It was around that time that he finished his first of two famous miniature carousels and simultaneously became a featured member of the 'Miniature Carousel Builders Club'. Despite the popularity he received throughout his lifetimes worth of creative ventures, Verne was never big on publicity. Much of his writings, music, crafts and other ventures remained stored away in his basement art and recording studio. After his death in 2004, his daughter Gayle and her children aimed to get his art out into the world. His music production company was taken over and revamped by his grandson, Christopher Bauman. His recordings fell into the hands of his other grandson, Kevan Bauman, a music producer and recording artist himself. That is where this special release originated. After digitally remastering some of Verne's most popular music, it is being released today for the world to hear.
