简介
Internet sensation Daves Highway is the Mississippi-based trio comprised of teen siblings Delaney, Zachary and Erika Daves. Since posting a home video on YouTube in 2009, the group has amassed millions of video views, released 3 studio CDs, and have made concert and TV appearances across the U.S. Set for release on November 11, 2014, the group’s latest work, 'An Acoustic Christmas' is their third full-length CD that features 12 classic Christmas songs performed in the authentic, acoustic style of Daves Highway! Produced by Andrew Reed of Artists International Media and recorded at Sedgwick Studios tucked away in the mountains of Asheville, NC, 'An Acoustic Christmas' continues to display the teen siblings’ musical interests. The group’s deep roots in country and gospel music that shape their authentic, home-grown southern harmonies clearly reign as Daves Highway subdues their listeners. The group's second full length CD, 'A Brand New Day' was released in December 2013. The CD features 14 songs and a variety of original and classic tunes performed by the genre-bending siblings and produced by Andrew Reed of Artists International Media and recorded at Sedgwick Studios in Asheville, NC. Their first full-length album, 'All This Time' was released in September 2011. Produced by Sam Ashworth (Michael W. Smith, Sixpence None the Richer), the infectious album features a refreshing blend of country and gospel songs, half of which were written or co-written by the siblings. The album is highlighted by their distinct harmonies. “Mom is country, Dad is rock, and we are a Christian family in the South, so we have that country-rock-Christian sound going on in our music,” says Zachary. In the Fall of 2009, Daves Highway began to gain a mass following online after posting some of their home video performances on YouTube and Facebook. Their version of Chris Tomlin’s “Jesus Messiah” exploded online, catching the attention of the songwriter himself. Tomlin was amazed by the kids’ rendition and posted the video on his blog for his fans to see. He also offered a standing invitation for the siblings to sing with him should he ever come close to their town. A few months later, when Tomlin played in Memphis, TN, Daves Highway joined him on stage. “Singing with Chris Tomlin was a dream come true for us,” says Delaney. “There were about six thousand people in the crowd singing along! It was so awesome and definitely a moment we will never forget. It was a dream come true!” Daves Highway released their first studio EP, in December 2009 featuring their version of “Jesus Messiah”. The song peaked at No. 25 on the Amazon MP3 Christian chart and entered the Amazon MP3 Top 75 Country songs. The EP, ‘Just For You’ was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Charlie Peacock. “You have to have a pretty guarded heart not to be thrilled by such young people singing perfect, three-part harmony!" Peacock says. The trio’s voices combine to create a remarkable musical blend, which can only be created by what’s known in the South as “blood harmony.” Their love of music was inherited from their parents and it wasn’t long until the siblings picked up various instruments and discovered they could sing incredibly well together. “Music has always been a big part of our lives at home, church and school, whether we are just hanging out or being serious about it,” says Zachary. The versatile trio effortlessly jumps from one genre to another, citing their primary musical influences as Little Big Town, Chris Tomlin, Alabama, The Martins, and The Eagles. Delaney is the oldest at 20. She is a sophomore in college who excels in artistic things such as painting and crafts. She is the sophisticated glamour girl who loves clothes, style, and anything that glitters. Like most big sisters, she is usually the one in charge. “She can make friends with anyone and has a lot of determination. I wish I was more like that,” says Erika about her older sister. Delaney plays mandolin, bass, guitar and percussion. She sings many of the lead melodies. Zachary, 18, is the definitive “man in the middle.” Nestled between an older and a younger sister, he is well versed in the art of negotiation and is often described as the peacemaker. Zachary is a self-taught student of the guitar. He is constantly learning a new song or guitar riff to share with anyone who will listen. His sisters refer to him as the ‘rock star’ of the group because he can play anything he wants to. Zachary plays acoustic and electric guitar and sings the lower harmonies. He is also the lead vocalist on many songs. Erika is the youngest at 17. She is a free spirit and a joker with tremendous wit. “She is so funny and makes everything fun,” says Delaney. “She makes us all laugh”. Erika is gifted in vocal harmony and is also the principal song writer for the group – writing since she was 5. She is also a pure vocal soloist who plays piano and sings the high harmonies.
