‘Just for Fun’ runs true to it name. The criteria for our song selection was – whimsical and light-hearted . . . with a tinge of humor and mischief. Essentially, we want this to be something that everyone can listen to and love, whether on a road trip with the family, while making dinner, or as a morning pick me up. We love world music. The Putumayo compilations were an inspiration for this album. We love how their albums – even the Playground series – always include real music, never simplified for a younger audience. A few of the songs are funky and make you feel like you’re walking down the streets of New Orleans. Others are lively sambas. Some have playful lyrics. Others make you feel like you’re being transported rhythmically on a trip to the American South, Brazil, or the Middle East.
