简介
by Stephen Cramer The five-song Songs in a Small Room showcases the twee pop stars-of-the-past Fantastic Something. Released on Spain's Siesta Records, the Greek bank opens the disc opens with the melodic "Go with the Flow.". Rereleased in 2001, the songs disc was originally recorded in the early 1990s, after the band got its start in the mid-1980s. The songs didn't see the light of day until the turn of the centry. Brothers Alex and Constantin Veis lead Fantastic Something with a penchant for melodic and harmonious sounds. The dreamy set of odes on Songs in a Small Room reminded many of Simon & Garfunkel and the Stone Roses, and with songs like "And I Love Her" and "Mark Train." The songs were recorded with a small room in mind, noting that the smaller the space, the easier it was to note a song's shortcomings.
