About the album : titled 'ICON-o-MIX' because each song is in some way influenced by a famous icon of the 20th century. And has its very specific & known-all-over-the-planet name as a songtitle. So yes, you could say it’s a concept album, but one of a very different kind (forget that 70’s connotation of ‘concept album’….) Songs are : BUSTER (as in Keaton), COCO, MAHATMA, AYRTON (2 tracks, 'Start' and 'Finish'), EDDY (as in Merckx), PABLO, A. (about an Austrian who was once big in Germany...), FEDERICO (as in Fellini), ALI and ABEBE (as in Bikila, the first African ever to win The Olympic Games Marathon in 1960. Barefoot). Eclectic it is. Or ‘retro-futuristic reggae-techno-pop’ if you wish. With various guest vocalists & lost & found voices. Lyrics in English, French, German, Italian & Spanish. About the band: MONObIRD (Belgium) is a duo project of dA Reverend (a.k.a dirk Blanchart) and dr. Nebula (a.k.a. Vincent Pierins). They wrote, played, recorded & produced Icon-o-Mix, so far their only album as a duo (released in 2002, Benelux only).
