I have been making music since I was 7. I started first with the ukulele but started playing piano shortly after and, honestly, I viewed it as a chore. I was classically trained on the piano and violin throughout highschool and it was not until the end of highschool that I truly realized how music can affect the soul. Not only referring to sad songs however, but any emotion could be enhanced through the right song. I tucked this into the back of my mind because I thought that doing music, at that time, was impractical and not what "serious" people did. Two and a half years later I graduated with my associates in Nursing and went overseas to do mission nursing because all I really wanted to do was help people. This trip was cut short due to civil unrest arising in the country I was in and being ordered to evacuate, which was a bit of a bummer. I ended my time as a mission nurse not yet feeling fulfilled in my attempts at helping people so I began to work as an ICU nurse in Tennessee. I loved my job and my coworkers but I still felt futile in helping people. I realized there is only so much help I can do with my hands, which made me ask, "how much help could i give with my ideas?" Thus Stage 2 was born. I had been dabbling in funk, jazz, and RnB already so my own music was taking shape already. I wanted to give a little glimmer of happiness to a world I had seen so much darkness in. So i wrote music and put myself in more circles with musicians and learned so much from so many amazing people and sometime that fall, I decided this is what i was meant to do in life. That was the fall of 2016, and I ask you to join this journey through the different stages of my life and yours. Sometimes it feels like you may be stagnant, but all that is important is that we keep moving, so lets start by getting past this first stage, and begin Stage 2.
