For the past several years I have been working on theme based projects and this one started as collection of disconnected tunes and so I called the project Side by Each , a colloquial expression , often referred to when ordering eggs in North Western Ontario. The songs were side by each . I found out as did the album that the songs were more connected than I had originally thought , connected by themes of aloneness and connectedness . The songs travel from Antarctica to Greenland but there is as much about the inner journey or better said the inner consequences of travel.
