Hip Hop duo, XrossRoads, released a sneak peek single from the music group's self-titled debut album which will be dropping the top of year 2019. XrossRoads is composed of Grammy-nominated producer Baby Paul and battle rap master of ceremonies Supa Emcee. Titled "I Swear", this collaborative track features rapper Ty Farris and singer Pierre Anthony. A tribute song to deceased Iron Fist Records founder, Proof, "I Swear" pays homage to this hip hop pioneer. Proof was a talented member of famed music group D-12. Both Supa Emcee and rapper Ty Farris were signed to Proof's Detroit record company. The two lyricists craft powerful metaphors and use masterful structure to convey deep praise for their mentor with unquestionable resolve. On the production side, composer Baby Paul employs compelling vocal sample chops and a rolling drum track to create a platform for the song's vocals to shine. Reminiscent of earlier collaborations with artists like Smif-N-Wesson and Black Moon, the esteemed producer crafts an emotional soundscape using deep base grooves. Topping off the collaboration is Pierre Anthony, who lends raw hood vocals on the chorus to accentuate the sweet, soulful feel of the instrumental. Supa Emcee is an accomplished Detroit-based battle rap emcee from Highland Park, Michigan. Supa received critical acclaim for features in major film productions, having hit the silver screen in blockbuster 8 Mile and entertained audiences for UPN's television shows "Moesha" and "The Parkers". The esteemed artist has also opened for major label acts like Dead Prez, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, KRS-1, Eminem, D-12, Rakim and Kool Keith. Baby Paul, also known as BPZY, is a Grammy-nominated producer from Queens, NY. BPZY has worked with artists such as Nas, AZ and Black Moon. Now an independent composer, Baby Paul was a one-time member of renowned production team out of Brooklyn, Da Beatminerz.
