简介
The second album of the famous Army, created in 1985 by vocalist Thomas Budzynski (formerly ax) and guitarist Robert Brylewski (crisis Brigade Crisis, Israel) is a portion of a solid, energetic, but even I at that time (the album was released in 1990) Archaic hard rock. "Legenda" is the most popular and widely regarded as the best album Armia. Thanks to the band existed for a while in the popular consciousness, clearance of color though punk hermetic little world. At the same time the album cemented the style in which the team has consistently keeps for years. What album earned her such deference? Before you get to that is worth mentioning about the conditions under which the board was created, because they are quite unusual. During this time, the musicians associated with the Armia and Israel lived in a common, detached from the world communions. In such a different, detached from reality, everyday problems album was magical, almost surrealistic. Thomas Budzynski texts can easily be described as poetry, similar in style to the works of Samuel Beckett, who is the singer repeatedly cites his work. The songs are quite ambiguous and difficult to read. The whole seems to be formed into a story about the search for faith and God. I will not go into here but in deeper considerations, because of this record has been written a lot, and the feature of this type of art is freedom of interpretation. I would add only more so that all fits well with the composition and gives the album a distinctive atmosphere. Music Armia is a specific combination of traditional sharp point with oriental sounds. Expressive drummer Peter "Feet" Żylezewicza and simple, sharp riffs Robert Brylewski backed by bass Maleo constitute a solid foundation, but the real star of the plate is banana. His playing keyboards waltornii and colors suited to individual songs. Without it, songs like "Flash of 5" or "Where did I get there you" might as well not exist. Without a doubt: Budzego texts and plays Banana are the strength of this album. There is an amazing picture that emerges from this album: Winter night, dark forest, somewhere clash bad and good powers. This is a must feel. Here, however, falls to mention two bonus songs: "Journey to the East" and "Invincible", which in themselves are very good, but it does nothing to match the rest of the album. It is difficult to distinguish any of the songs on the disc as an equal. "What we've never seen," and especially very melodic chorus gets stuck in your head after the first hearing. Similarly, the instrumental "Three tales" (absolute basis in concert!). "Where I am there you'll be" memorable great drums and parties on waltornii and moving (and understandable) text. However, the best song on the album for me is "A Winter's Tale." It is hard to describe in words what is happening in these six minutes. One word: miracle. "Legenda" is not an album for everyone. Not all will suit confusing texts, simple and aggressive guitars and weird Banana parties. Not everyone will agree with the message coming from the album. It should, however, give a "Legenda" chance. Piece of history of Polish music and proof that a simple music can bring deep content.
