We think the world sounds better in harmony. We met in college and found an instant musical connection - the kind you hold onto across oceans and through decades. For years, we have been singing together at every opportunity from coffeehouses to concert halls and we are thrilled to share our upcoming debut album with you. Let’s Sing and Play came together out of a shared passion for music and curiosity for the world. The mission was simple: create songs for kids that inspire them to sing, smile and learn a little along the way. Started in London and finished in New York, with many transatlantic brainstorming sessions in between, this album tapped into the kids in us. So come take a musical journey with us to foreign lands, make noises with animals, meet funny families, and revel in togetherness! Bergin can’t think of a time when she didn’t have a song in her head. She has been writing songs and playing the piano since her mom put her on her lap to do sing-a-longs as a child. She has sung solo, in musicals, in bands and choirs for over twenty years and has performed original works for piano and guitar in New York, Mexico, Washington, DC and London. She is a New York and Stonington native, but lives in London with her inspiring husband David, and their baby, Emmett, who loves to bang things and “sing” along to music. In her other life, she tries to fight the good fight through social justice work. Melissa loves singing all different types of music, from funky jazz to musical theater. She grew up on NYC’s Upper West Side singing songs with her identical twin sister, and has lived and played music in Maine, San Francisco, Baltimore, New York and Edinburgh, where she co-founded an African film festival and met her brilliant scientist husband. In her other life, she does taxes every year for a fabulous group of people in NYC.
