After being faced with a turbulent time in life, Mr.Mel decided to pick up a microphone and end all of his troubles. “Daddy, when are we gonna get another house?’ is the question that he remembers most as he strived to regroup from the most critical period of his life. Mr.Mel, born and raised in Chicago Illinois, has been in love with music from birth. He is a Hip-Hop artist that can rap, sing, produce, perform, and write (various forms of music). Mr.Mel was honored by ASCAP in September of 2006 and 2007 for his outstanding achievement as an independent artist. He was verbally acknowledged by Rap Coalitions founder (Wendy Day) as a “very creative and lyrical” artist. Mr.Mel have also performed at Chicago's Legendary Regal Theater, and (as a member of a group) generated sell out crowds in Camden Alabama and Chicago Illinois. Mr.Mel has also appeared in various Television shows such as the FOX networks #1 show PRISON BREAK and various independent movies such as DIMENSIONS. From his life experiences, Mr.Mel has come to conclude that we are all “slaves to the system” regardless of financial status. Mr.Mel decided to wrapped his feelings up in the form of music and present the world with the "BARS OF A SLAVE".
