Influenced by 70s krautrock, 80s pop, 90s garage, and 2000s indie rock, melded into a sound that is decidedly contemporary. "Vision Lies" tells stories about the relative nature of what we call "the truth." One's truth is another's myth and yet another's fallacy. Each track approaches this concept from a different angle, be it natural camouflage ("Buffalo Point"), lying to oneself ("That's a Drag"), putting on appearances ("Firecracker"), or struggling with religious belief versus scientific proof ("Vision Lies"). The topics discussed in the lyrics is often hidden by the compositions' poppy immediacy or rocking aggression, creating another level of disguise. Color Animal brings together Salt Lake City musicians who have played in groups including Band of Annuals, The Platte, Calico, Blue Sunshine Soul, Azon, Stiletto, Victrola, and many more.
