简介
"Home is the place where you go back to and realize that you have never left." Peter Truffa and Andy Stack, both NY natives have collaborated to create the EP Art School (Lady Lovely label), a vintage sound recording from Rocksteady ska, & Reggae Indie Pop. This set of songs, recorded in Woodstock, northern area of New York state, have as its theme an authentic rocksteady proper fused with rock Americana. Modern recording techniques have been largely abandoned; the result is that of a sound deep with organic flavor. "It's been an amazing session experience at Andy's studio, where less gear, more banging", Peter affirms. Andy Stack is a multi-talented singer and musician with a style that's feels like Wilson Pickett meets Jeff Buckley. Stack toured with NYSJE and thus invited Peter to collaborate and work as a touring keyboardist. This sets up the duo's rocksteady rock. These six songs will debut on the international stage for Peter Truffa as a singer, composer, and soloist. As a sideman doing many shows for other acts, including NY Ska-Jazz Ensemble, the Bluebeaters, Giuliano Palma, and Mr. T-Bone, the focus is pop ska & reggae. What unleashes creative potential here is the departure from the known destined for home cooking. It's like family when you get a vibration from places you knew growing up. It's such an acoustic record on so many levels. The material has been selected so as to highlight the paradox between happiness and distress that being covers such as "The Limit To Your Love", a love ballad describing a love and a surprise affirmation of unconditional love. The first two have a more leisurely pace: "The Limit to Your Love" and "The River". Both express the melancholy of love and yet, at the same time, have a musical taste airy and full-bodied with a background deeply contagious given by the drum work of Andy Stack. Between Buffalo Stack Studio and Mama's Place Studio, both in Woodstock, NY, the EP Art School achieves its flavor of indie pop reggae. With hints of ska and ska traditional sprinkled with boogie piano, from it's birth at a house party Stack in Hudson, NY, is a story of lasting friendship, and on and off the stage. Andy Stack urged Peter to call Michael Tudor to record; This consolidates the project with a flair that matched the beautiful area of upstate New York, where they were recorded the songs. "This is the beginning of a wonderful collaboration for future recordings." Mamma's Place Studio nestled in the deep woods of Willow, NY incorporates all of the vintage components of a sound studio perfect for recording organically in the comfort of the historic NY cottage under towering maple trees. Michael Tudor has a wide array of ethic instruments and techniques which added a dimension of acoustic timbre to this definitive recording. It's this organic groove blended with first takes that lead up to soulful rocksteady but with a real soul. From the end of the summer into early fall 2014, these guys had fun working in the studio, home grown jamming out and creativity. The independent and original "So Natural", makes its way into the world of the hot pop interplanetary. The song was originally written in a style more rocksteady but once heard cellist Bea Zanin, Peter decides to give the song a different taste. "It is not necessary to add more art to the art if it is already full. Bea completes this song with her cello interpretation; Peter put it this way during a practice session at Studio Blumusica in Torino, Italy. Pippo Monaro was essential for maintaining the beauty of simplicity in the production, highlighting the talent of the composer and singer. The EP Art School was founded in the place where Peter met music and Andy Stack. The party and the music will start here for NY state reggae, messing around in the studio for fun.
