简介
In 1994 Roy started his musical career as the lead vocalist for The Liberty Band and was signed to Joey International records where he recorded his first CD with the Liberty Band entitled "Approaching Storm”. In march of ’95, after just a few short months in the Tejano industry, Roy was given the amazing opportunity to perform his first single "Mi Princesa” in front of an estimated crowd of 45,000 at The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas for the televised 15th Annual Tejano Music Awards. In 2011, after enjoying close to 15 years as a member of The Liberty Band, Roy decided to take some time away from the band and enjoy life outside the Tejano Music World. During his time out of the spotlight, Roy focused his energies on his professional career and family, as well as taking time to cultivate a new found love for music all over again. In the summer of 2013, Roy was tapped to be the new vocalist for the 3 time Grammy nominated Grupo Vida. Although his time with Grupo Vida was brief, Roy was able to tour all over the Southwestern portion of the United States and perform along side some of the most amazingly brilliant and talented musicians within the Tejano Music genre. Shortly after leaving Grupo Vida, Roy joined together with Javier Villarreal to form Roy Garcia y Grupo Sueño. Together the band enjoyed much success traveling all over Texas and the Southwest with their singles "Como Me Duele" and "Mi Flor" garnering heavy air play on both FM and Internet stations across the country. In December of 2014, Roy finally took a leap of faith on himself and parted ways with Grupo Sueno to branch out as a solo artist for the first time in his 20 year career. Roy is currently in the studio working on his first Debut Solo CD, which is being produced by multi Grammy recognized producers.
