Timmy Straw is a writer, composer and pianist working in Portland, Oregon. In 2014, she was recognized by the Academy of American Poets for her poem ‘Tundra Cinema’; exhibited at the Swiss Institute in New York; and Editions Plane published her first chapbook, To Water, Everything is a Swimmer. As a composer, her work was commissioned by the Dutch contemporary dance company Nord Nederlands Dans, and she has performed her solo project in venues ranging from the Getty Museum to an ex-slaughterhouse in Switzerland.
