The first release by phontaine under the name earball. It was pieced together over a 3 year period by Grant Baldwin (phontaine) “It was my first cd” says Baldwin. “ I kept learning new things about production along the way, every new song seemed to be better than the last, it was hard to finish” “I was broke making this album so I worked in northern B.C, Canada planting trees, this also gave me the winter off to work on music.” “My girlfriend lent me the money to press this album, if she didn't I wouldn't be where I am today- making music for a living.” “ This is still my favorite release, it has a lot of sounds I recorded while traveling mixed into certain tracks. It's like my audio scrapbook.” After the indie success of 'aqui', Phontaine (earball) had songs released on the compilations 'Blue Light One' (Upstairs Recordings/Nettwerk) and 'Global Groove'(Sugo Music) alongside Thievery Corporation. His tracks can also be heard on film and T.V (The O.C,Sacred Planet IMAX,First Snow, Las Vegas, Tru Calling, Windfall).
