Logos is the culmination of songs and themes that started as very personal responses to suffering and meaning. Themes drawn from literature, such as The Book Thief, philosophy, and religious texts were expanded on to include not only personal but universal questions about why people suffer and it's ultimate meaning to our lives. The Future Kings sound runs the gamut between artful indie pop and odd meter rockers. Regardless, melody and harmony are always at the forefront of this Midwest quintet. They craft their indie wonderland with an expansive and relentless curiosity that's as diverse as it is enchanting. In 2011, they released the compact but strong We Are E.P. After supporting the record for the next year they took an extended hiatus while they explored other projects. The band continued to write and record in spurts with sporadic performances until late 2013. In 2014, the band announced the release of their long delayed follow up album, Logos. The year was spent completing the production. They capped off the year with the release on December 12th. An early spring tour was announced with their label The Nation of Love for March 2015 which includes multiple appearances at the SXSW festival in Austin Texas.
