The Goldberg Variations, Bach's largest keyboard work, is among his most astonishing achievements as a composer. Having taken a simple 8-note bass line from a set of variations by Handel, Bach expanded the 8 notes into 32 and wrote a set of variations that tower above his Baroque counterpart's.

This recording is supplemented with play/lecture demonstration tracks to help the novice listener become familiar with this immense and timeless masterpiece (and to give the expert something more to listen for as well).
