AND THE ENTIRE Doo-Wop & Motown era. In his spare time, when not performing, Lee is can be found writing and composing works of his own, including a few musical theatre productions. On MARCH 1st 2012 - Lee Siegel made his Broadway Debut in Des McAnuff's directed (High acclaimed, Stratford Shakespeare Festival Production) of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR - In the Role of: SIMON ZEALOTS. WHERE'S THE ORCHESTRA - Marks Lee Siegel's Debut album. - Collaborating with Pianist and Producer: Konrad Pluta. - Lee selected a number of songs that are highlights to his career in show business, but also tell a story of love and relationships. -- For instance: "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie" was the first song Lee ever sang as a child, the rendition he learned back then was on an ol Lou Rawls album. -- Upon making his Broadway debut, Lee learned, that the Neil Simon Theatre, (where Jesus Christ Superstar was opening) was also the home of the Original production of "Annie" which opened on that stage in the 1970's. -- Making things even more exciting, a Broadway revival of "Annie" hit New York in the 2012 season... and Lee was in attendance when it opened. - Sometimes things go full circle. Though the songs are familiar to some, each song has a story behind it , just like the one above. -- The Two Original songs "Here I Stand" written by Lee Siegel, and "Change" a collaboration with Music by: Konrad Pluta and Lyrics by: Lee & Konrad, ... are two songs that are in keeping with the albums themes, but two originals hinting to the world at what's coming up ahead. "Where's The Orchestra" - is just the beginning. LEE'S THEATRICAL & VOCAL REVIEWS have said.... "Another show-stopping moment, but for all the right reasons, was the performance of Lee Siegel (Simon) of "Simon Zealotes". The audience's continued applause and cheers in appreciation of his passionate portrayal and resonating voice stopped the show for well over a minute. The production itself received an instant and exuberant standing ovation. " --- JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR Broadway Revival 2012 - - SIR Tim Rice, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR History. "The crowd ... really came alive in the first act when the talented Lee Siegel hit it out of the park with his gospel-style belting of Simon Zealotes – a song where doubts are drowned out by “power and glory.” (Siegel thanks “God!!!' in his program bio and that pretty much sums up his winning approach to this number.) "- JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR - BROADWAY DEBUT, NYC 2012 " - J. Kelly Nestruck- The GLOBE and MAIL "The cast stand-out was Simon Zealotes played by Lee Siegel. For the first half of the first act he was ensemble, but got your attention. Call it an aura, a presence, he has that 'it' people talk about. When you see him, you are drawn into him before he even does anything and when he does sing, he delivers the goods." - Review "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" - Broadway Debut 2012, - Michelle Murillo- FM News 101.9 - NEW YORK "...Memorably, and rousingly Lee Siegel as Simon, leads the company in the show stopping, Simon Zealots. " - JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR - Broadway - Martin Denton "nytheatre.com" "With all the vocal agility to be witnessed here, one particular show-stopping number is brought about by a new-comer. Lee Siegel, in the role of Simon the Zealot. He has a moment in the middle of Act I where his vocals transcend the normal ‘this-is-the-story-telling-part-of-the-show’ and create a ‘holy-wow-did-he-just-do-that’ moment. This is his Broadway debut, and one he should be very proud of. This reviewer is SURE that he is here to stay (and I’m sure that his direction and writing credits will be put to good use in his new home-town)." - Review: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR - Broadway 2012, - Theatrebear.com - "...it doesn’t take long to be certain that all the singers, in this Stratford Shakespeare Festival production, will belt the music with top-notch chops. Lee Siegel cuts loose with “Simon Zealotes” (“Christ you know I love you. Did you see I waved?”). Jeremy Kushiner (Pilate), Bruce Dow (Herod Antipas), and Aaron Walpole (Annas) “rock the cynics” with their deliveries." - Jeff Smith - San Diego Reader, California (JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR) "The clockwork efficiency gets an injection of life when Lee Siegel emerges as Simon Zealotes to tempt Jesus into political power and guerrilla war. Suddenly the production has a pulse and passion. Siegel sings with genuine rock’n’roll intensity, excitement and energy. From this moment forward, the Stratford Jesus Christ Superstar has something new to say." - Michael Swan, the Catholic Register "...there are strong, sensationally sung performances from Aaron Walpole’s Annas, Lee Siegel’s Simon Zealotes and Marcus Nance’s basso profundo Caiaphas. " -Review: Stratford Shakespeare Festival 2011 -"JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" - J. Kelly Nestruck - The GLOBE and MAIL "Lee Siegel in his professional debut is powerfully good on "Dance with Me" and the clever "Love Potion 9" - Review: SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE - Geoff Chapman - Music Critic TORONTO STAR "...Lee Siegel, who plays Jean Valjean in the Thousand Islands Playhouse production of Les Miserables, has a voice so powerful, I'm surprised it didn't blow the wigs...off his fellow cast members. But, his voice is also delicate enough to raise a tear to the eye when singing a tender ballad. Siegel is also no slouch as an actor. Each time he's on stage he commands it, sometimes with just his sorrowful eyes." - Review: LES MISERABLES - Greg Burliuk, The Kingston Standard "Three numbers into the show and Lee Siegel sets Motown Gold’s show stopping standard of excellence with his version of Jackie Wilson’s Lonely Teardrops." Review: MOTOWN GOLD - Louis B. Hobson - The CALGARY SUN "...The cast in this production is quite remarkable. Lee Siegel playing Mitch Mahoney, a muscle-bound bad boy with a serious attitude, is doing his community service in the bee. Mitch has that loving yet menacing presence about him and when he opens his mouth to sing, wow. The audience was quite mesmerized with his powerful vocal solo." - Review: Valerie Hill - The Kitchener/Waterloo Record "...Can anyone really sing GREASE's Summer Nights, like John Travolta? -(Answer: YES! Lee Siegel hits it right on!)" - Review: BROADWAY GOLD - Ashley Goodfellow, The Brampton Guardian "...Enchanted with Lee Siegel... He is charming...His outstanding voice captivates the audience." --- Lynda Hillman - Review of CATS, "Lee Siegel is exceedingly amusing as Mitch Mahoney, an ex-convict who is performing his community service with the Bee as the official comfort counsellor. Siegel's powerful voice and superb comic timing complement an all-round impressive cast." - Review: Mildmay Town Crier - "25th Annual Spelling Bee" July2010 "...Lee Siegel (Roger) has one of the most striking tones among the cast, beautifully displayed in *Mooning*. " - Review: GREASE - Tina Depko "Front and center is Lee Siegel, who brings Jean Valjean to life with his amazing vocal range. Every character has a signature piece and Bring Him Home left the audience breathless. Talents including Michael Burgess and Colm Wilkinson have tackled the role of Valjean and Siegel's name can now be uttered in the same breath. -- He moves from tender to menacing with simply a glance and his emotions are believable and real." --- Anne Craig - Review: "LES MISERABLES" The Reporter News. "Lee Siegel...is powerful as John...his song...is outstanding" - Casey Lessard - Review: MISS SAIGON "One of the biggest oddball stars of the show is Lee Siegel, as ex-convict Mitch Mahoney who is performing his community service by escorting the losers off the stage. His is not only intimidating, and totally funny too, but also he has an incredible voice." - David Meyer - Review: "25th Annual Spelling Bee" - "Old Deuteronomy ...(a .. Powerful .. Lee Siegel) chooses the cat who will ascend ..." - Jeffrey Borak - Review: CATS tour - Berkshire Eagle "Two other characters of note are Stephanie Pitsiladis, as Jan, and Lee Siegel, as Roger, Both play the male and female version of the over-weight hanger-ons of the male and female gangs, yet their comedic talents demand attention. - Their duet on *Mooning* is both hilarious and touching, as the two minor characters develop an attraction for each other. " - Review: GREASE - Rod Jerred, - Oakville Beaver Staff. "Siegel sings about the forgotten children...known as "bui doi". His powerful voice...left no one in the audience with dry eyes. " - Mary Alderson - Review: MISS SAIGON "Lee Siegel as Big Moe gets some patter in Brother Beware, belts out Cal'donia, but later delivers a song full of pathos called What's The Use Of Gettin' Sober. - His style is completely different to fit the songs." - Harry Currie - Review: 5 GUYS NAMED MOE - The Record News "Lee Siegel's rendition of Me And Mrs Jones....is one of the many highlights." - Jason Clevett - Review: ONE HIT WONDERS - Calgary
