简介
Born into a household filled with the sounds of her father's jazz guitar and piano, Shari began singing and writing songs early in her childhood. At eight she started piano lessons, but quit at eleven, like many children do. Still, with a passion for writing and the desire to communicate through song, as a collegiate student, taught herself guitar. With a strong background in musical theatre, Shari learned the importance of telling a story through music. At times, when it became difficult to express what was on her mind, she found writing a song to be the easiest way to share her deepest, heartfelt emotions. She remembers hearing her brother say to her, "If I ever want to know what's going on in your life, I just need to listen to your latest song!" Years ago, while living in NYC and attending school, Shari came across a group of young singer/songwriters regularly performing in an acoustic open mike night at the club Downtime. Organized and hosted by Melissa Cross (creator of "The Zen of Screaming"), local singer/songwriters, including Shari, had the opportunity to fine tune their craft in a peer-friendly environment. Through Melissa, Shari was introduced to a young, upcoming producer named Julian Harris (Tree House Studios, NYC) who helped her produce her first 6-track self-titled demo CD. While recording her demo, Shari met a young keyboard player living and working in New York, Paul Gordon. Little did she know, years later, she would reconnect with Paul and be presented with an opportunity to fulfill a lifetime dream! A chance meeting on Facebook, and a reunion at a Washington DC B-52's concert, lead to their present collaboration, resulting in her debut album, PERFECT LOVE. Together, with Paul Gordon, now a well-established Nashville producer and musician/artist (B-52’s, Goo Dolls, Lisa Marie Presley, Natasha Beddingfield, Prince), Shari has written the lyrics which chronicle her story, and through her music, shares with her audience a passionate journey through love found and lost, and found again within oneself. "Behind every song, there is a story. Within every story, there is an experience. It is those experiences in life, good and bad, and what we learn from them, that help us develop into the person we are today. I so look forward to sharing my life...through music, with you." Her music is a combination of influences, from the old school dance rhythms of Donna Summer, to the smooth chill lounge sounds of Sade and Basia, to the beautifully clear vocals of a Karen Carpenter, making a beautiful Adult Contemporary work that should be listened down from top to bottom. Shari, also known as Dr. Hall, is a practicing Anesthesiologist caring for wounded warriors. The final track on the CD, titled "Come Back to Me" is a tribute to the servicemen and women and their families with whom she comes in contact on a daily basis. 100% of the proceeds from each download of "Come Back to Me" will be donated to non-profit organizations committed to lifting the spirits of our country's troops and their families.
