简介
Phantom Phunk’s “Jungle Crunch” is a true timepiece for the Millenial generation. As if incarnating the cross-genre architecture of the Gorillaz, “Jungle Crunch” flaunts a multiplicity of modern music styles which can be felt in just about every corner of the track; from the stereo ricochet of the electric guitars, to the symbiotic relay between electronic and acoustic rhythm elements. This trend persists past the instrumentation, however, manifesting within the vocal layering as well. Featured Hip-Hop artist, Cloud Master (Wayne Price), lays down a crafty performance with hi-speed phrases reminiscent to Andrei 3000, and a lyrical narrative that brings listeners into the sandy trenches of a lackluster war-arena. Yet still, singer/songwriter Hector Alexander makes brief cameos throughout the tune, interjecting eerie vocal lines which package this piece into completion. The overall effect is an eclectic sound-scape within which modern sound is entangled in exotic feel. In short, “Jungle Crunch” is like a cocktail mix of David Bowie and Outkast that transports you somewhere between the ancient past and the present.
