The Hot & Heavy Band plays high-energy guitar driven blues. The band hails from Western Massachusetts and is influenced by a unique array of artists to form their sound. While Jeannie loves the great female blues vocalists like Etta James and Bonnie Raitt, the guys lean more towards Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton for their inspiration! When the band listens to music together the Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa collaborations are the favorite. The music from those CDs satisfies everyone’s taste and as a result the band covers several of those songs.

One thing that makes Hot & Heavy different from other Blues bands is their material. Although the songs on the set list are steeped in deep blues tradition, they are chosen very carefully so that even the casual music fan will recognize most of the selections. The goal of Hot & Heavy is to please the hardcore blues purest and the casual music fan at the same time. While one group of fans are enjoying the music of Bobby “Blue” Bland, Freddy King, and Taj Mahal, the more casual music fan can enjoy some Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and the Allman Brothers.
