"After wrapping up their Ratchet Sh*t EP series with the release of their full-length LP, Ratchet Sh*t: The Album last August, Atlanta transplants A. ware and Corey Davis return with their follow-up full-length offering, Art Rap. Enlisting the aid of DJ Burn One on the boards and Scar, Gangsta Boo ("Don't Play") and a head-turning feature from the buzzing up-and-comer Trinidad Jame$ ("Who You Rollin' Wit"), the eclectic duo flex their creative muscles while distinguishing their latest body of work from their previous concept-based Ratchet Sh*t series." -Earmilk "Just when you think you know what to expect with Mach Five, they go and deliver an incredibly unexpected collection of songs in Art Rap. Whereas their previous project Ratchet Sh*t was really everything that that title suggests, Art Rap practically falls on the other side of the spectrum. Chiller, more mellow beats accentuated by jazzy elements help to cultivate a refreshing atmosphere for the duo to wreak havoc on." -The Smoking Section "In most parts of the United States, the normal progression of habitation goes: live with your parents, go to college & live with a lot of roommates, after college live with less roommates, live alone, get married and live with your husband/wife. If you live in NYC you live with a roommate until your drop dead or you get married, whichever comes first. This, an unfortunate biproduct, of the rent being too damn high. All that time spent living with other people, if nothing else, teaches you how to amicably settle disputes. Disputes like, your roommate wanting to listen to some laid back Sunday vibe rap, while you want to listen to something kinda ratchet and turnt up. If you’re in that predicament you can thrown on Mach Five‘s new album Art Rap and everyone can groove and chill the f**k out. There’s lots of jazzy beats that sound like the type of sh*t you might hear at a bohemian coffe spot, but there’s also bass heavy joints that get the energy flowing. One particularly, “Who You Rollin’ Wit ” features a pretty hot verse from Trinidad Jame$, which sounds like a contradiction in terms but, actually exists. Bump this and save the animosity with your roommate for important stuff, like who drank the orange juice that you clearly put your name on." -Mishka
