(Luke 18:8) How do we not just SURVIVE but spiritually THRIVE in these uncertain times? Is it possible to grow DEEPER in our love and commitment to Jesus when so many other "voices" compete for our time and allegiance? The secret is spelled out for us in Jeremiah 17:7-9, "Blessed are those who TRUST in the LORD and have made HIM their HOPE and CONFIDENCE. They are like TREES planted along a riverbank with ROOTS that reach DEEP into the WATER. Such trees are NOT BOTHERED by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay GREEN and they NEVER STOP producing FRUIT." The key is constant, continual access to LIVING WATER!  Jesus said in John 4:14, "Whoever drinks the water I give them will NEVER THIRST. Indeed, the water I give them will become IN them a spring of LIVING WATER welling up to eternal life."  Living water in Hebrew means continuously moving, flowing water, not a stagnant pond. How often do we reach for the "stagnant ponds" to quench our spiritual thirst: entertainment, media, money, aspirations apart from God. These sources will eventually run dry. God wants to continually FILL US UP with HIMSELF...HE is the river that never runs dry and constantly nourishes and blesses us to bless others.
