Suicide Squad is Raw Emotion! Pure Adrenaline! Music from the Soul! The Freshman LP from the long awaited and highly anticipated Super Group, Suicide Squad is entitled "Lost Souls" for many reasons. Namely, because that was their original name lol. But mostly because it seemed like all the members were in music limbo before they came together. All the members, Group leader and founder, Block Mccloud of Brooklyn Academy and AOTP fame, War Bixby of Skeme Team and Speedknots, Castro Fidel, star of the documentary "Rikers High" and The Fight Club, Raw Doggz(see every BIG MIKE mixtape), Riles the Skateboarding producer and Fresh Jones, the musically gifted and slightly twisted vocalist of the group, not to mention Blocks beautiful wife :), were all basically looking for something to cling on to and found it in Suicide Squad. Brought together randomly at Block Mccloud's studio they seemed to all just show up on the same days and collaborate on incredible songs together. This particular album was recorded in the summer of 2007 in Staten Island at 584 Bay Street. Most of it was recorded in a drunken and drug induced stupor. They say that alcohol brings out the truth in people, maybe that is why this album is so heart felt. Whether it be Anger and Rage filled songs like "FTW" or "I Hate Love" or Inspirational joints like "Moving In" or "Better", you seem to fall through the song and into the room and time where and when these songs were recorded. You feel their "Loss" in "Crossroads", or there excitement in "Reason". And for all those Army of the Pharoahs fans you have songs like "Retard Strength" and "TIme(Battle of 2012)" to satisfy your hunger for Hard beats and Fire Spittage! With production from Beat Butcher, Scorpio61 and Block Mccloud himself, its a power house of hard-hitting, dark and melodic, and slightly twisted hip hop and rock fused music that delivers on EVERY song! The Music, the Lyrics and let us not forget, Block and Fresh's incredible voices on the choruses combine to create a whole new genre in Hip Hop, one that will have you doing a little "Soul" searching of your own...powerful, beautiful, music...real music at a time when that concept seems to have been "Lost" on everyone else...the "Lost Souls" have found their niche...and it will lift your "Souls"...i mean Spirits...
