Oluwatosin Oluwakayode Ebenezer is the first child of Mr. James Adeniyi Odumosu and Mrs. Emily Amoke Odumosu [nee Amoniyan]. He was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, but by virtue of his dad being the quintessential sales person – moving from state to state on business, Tosin got the opportunity to see life in different parts of the country as a child. However his education was affected because he had to change schools several times, until his family finally settled down in Lagos. After completing his secondary education at Mushin Boys High School, he was admitted into Yaba College of Technology to pursue his desire for higher education and he graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. He furthered, after which he got a Master in Divinity at the GraceSprings Bible College, Lagos. His love for music was evident very early in his life; even before he was barely able to walk, he would sit with the chief percussionist of the day in church services. Similarly, in primary school, he became the band leader [drummer] and he played on all the shifts his school was running at the time. He joined the school and church choirs in secondary school and went on to become an instructor, teaching others percussion instruments. He was a versatile instrumentalist, playing virtually all the African instruments available, he played the woodwinds and some brasswind with an unusual articulation and he also taught with a high level of skill and mastery that was assumed of prodigies. The journey of Tosin as a saxophonist would be incomplete without mentioning Jazzville – a favourite hangout for Tosin at the time. Jazzville (now known as Praiseville) was the beginning of his drilling and integration into the jazz genre. He was the in-house saxophonist for a several years, playing with the in-house band Jazzeria managed by the house owner, Mr. Majekodunmi. Tosin was able to make a few statements and raise a followership who readily thronged on Friday nights to listen to jazz renditions and so much more. As a self-taught saxophonist, he faced a lot of challenges but through diligence, and an unflinching desire to be the best, he was able to overcome those initial drawbacks. Tosin has ministered at several concerts in and outside Nigeria. In his words: “it has been a divinely orchestrated privilege” to work with and share the stage with music greats like Late Pa Steve Rhodes, living legend Onyeka Onwenu, Ms. Laura Ezekwe, Pastor Kunle Ajayi, Pastor Kingsley Ike, Pastor Faith Ajiboye, Pastor Wale Adenuga, Pastor Broda Martyns, Big Brother Hubert Kunle Ajayi, Kenny St. Brown, Femi Jacobs, Dekunle Fuji, O’femi Odukale to mention a few. He has also worked with notable A-list musicians like award winning Gospel artist - Sammy Okposo, Tolu Okeowo (Nigerian born pianist/producer residing in London), Segun Gilbert (Nigerian born pianist/producer residing in London), Papa Ray, Kunle Ayo (Award winning Nigeria born, Jazz Guitarist residing in South Africa), Happy Akpeyi, Olamide Adams, Femi Sofela, Sam Aina, Charles Ademiloye and so many more. He has participated and assisted in many musical projects in Nigeria; session-man in Experience Lagos, East Africa, and Europe. Recollecting his first day in a recording studio with nostalgia, he was in the studio to record with the mass choir of the Church of the Lord Aladura as a percussionist. He was later in the studio again with Pastor Kunle Ajayi of Redeemed Christian Church Of God. For Tosin, this was the beginning of a destiny to be revealed and fulfilled. Today, he is an instructor/ facilitator/clinician for master classes on saxophones, as well as a mentor to many music ministers. He has participated in several musical projects and he has two albums to his credit, Thankful and recently released Anointin’. When Tosin worships Jehovah, the True and Living God, His presence elevates men into a new level of relationships and intimacy; emotional healing, physical healing, release from emptiness, depression, despair and delusions are phenomenal experiences of the Divine presence. Tosin is a Music Minister with the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos Nigeria. He is married to Yetunde Oluwaseun. They are blessed with children.
