简介
Born in New Dallas Texas, but raised in Louisiana by a mother and father who loved music, Terence began to develop an interest in music at the age of 12. Terence was exposed to several different forms of music including Gospel, Rap, Jazz, Rock, Funk, and Country while serving in middle school and high school marching, concert, and jazz bands. During his high school years, he received many awards for his outstanding local and national performances, and was involved with numerous local groups including one of his own. At age 18 he began to work professionally with local jazz and gospel groups including Dorsey Summerfield & The Polyphonics and Zodiac to name a few. After graduation, he decided to continue his musical career at Grambling State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Music Performance. While matriculating, he and his best friend Edwin Brown decided to form their own band named Level G. He immediately started to receive accolades from established performers and studio musicians. After this, it was not long before he was regularly being called for concerts, sessions, tours, and top performing dates with such artists as Greg O’quin, John P. Kee, Henry Johnson, Vickie Baker, The Platters, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Marvelettes, Kim Waters, and Sounds of Blackness to name a few. In 2005, Terence moved to Houston, Texas where he immediately began serving as Minister of Music at his church and working with local talent. In this new location he was able to display his spectacular talent and innovative use of combining classical, expressive piano playing through jazz and worship, which brought him world-wide recognition As a solo artist, Terence has recorded and produced lots of local talents as well as his own recordings. His own band has kept him very busy the last couple of years, but he still enjoys sideman work. When off the road, he’s busy with his church, recording sessions, and even mixing a few projects here and there, all in his place of residence, Houston TX. Besides his busy playing career, Terence is also very involved with the teaching aspect, conducting many camps, clinics, workshops, and classes throughout the U.S. He says “It is my goal to inspire as many people as possible in a positive way through music and the arts. With all the issues in the world today, I feel this is a way of giving back to the community and the world. Music has the natural ability to enrich the soul.” Terence does accept students for consultations and lessons when he is off the road at his home in TX, so if interested send an e-mail to terencefisher1898@hotmail.com. He just finished his new instrumental Christmas CD entitled 88 Keys To Christmas. He is currently working on a book and a live gospel recording.
